I'll spare you the boring details but the upshot is that Alitalia is (still) not to be trusted and there is no more boring a place to burn a few extra hours of travel time than the Barcelona airport.




I include this photo of an airplane pulling up to the terminal while we waited for our own flight to leave only because of what happened next.




After all the passengers got off the flight that had arrived, one of the pilots got out and took a picture of his plane! He then went back and showed the shot to his copilot. I can only guess that this was his first flight (good thing the passengers were long gone!)




Right before our flight for Italy finally left, I took this shot in the airport cafe of what I believe to be the world's largest table lamp.




Barcelona was great fun, and our departure was significantly delayed, but it was at long last time to head for Italy. Which is where we'll pick up the story next. Stay tuned!
