One area of the Frankfurt terminal was for flights to the U.S., and I found it interesting that they had signs up blaming the increased security measures entirely on the Americans.
Another important detail about the airport in Frankfurt is that it also houses a big U.S. Air Force base for transport. Most of the airplanes in this picture are probably stopping over with troops and equipment flowing back and forth between the U.S. and the Middle East. (There were a lot more transport planes that didn't fit in the picture.)
As we descended into the Toronto area, the sun cast a nice shadow of the plane onto the clouds. Too bad the window was so dirty!
For those of you who've seen my Seattle pics, you know that I've already been through the departures area of the new terminal at Pearson, but this was the first time I'd seen the arrivals area. It's still shiny and new!
