It was Columbus Zoo night at the game, and they had (really short) people in costumes roaming the concourse during the intermissions. No word on whether the eagle reads the blog.




There's no Pierre Maguire between the team benches in Columbus - they actually sell real seats there.




One thing I noticed across the ice is that they have a woman working on the timekeeper's bench (she's in the middle, in grey). There's no reason not to have women there, but since it's usually the domain of older white men who don't know how to work computers, it did strike me as noteworthy.




The game begins, and we get our first look at Jordin Tootoo, a Nashville player who seems to be the guy everyone in Columbus loves to hate...




... and before too long, a Columbus player (Jared Boll) got things going against Tootoo, much to the obvious delight of the crowd. (Alas, they didn't have too much else to cheer about that night.)
