I had come down to Pioneer Square to take an underground tour, which takes you down into the original ground floor in that part of the city. It had been filled in after a major fire in the late part of the 19th century, making the ground floors of most buildings into the basements.




We all piled into a bar area for the start of the tour. A good sign, I thought.




At the start of the tour we walked past this sign, which - sadly it's not obvious - is made up of people's photos into George's happy mug. Although I photographed a number of anti-Bush signs while I was there, it bears pointing out that there were just as many pro- Bush signs and bumper stickers, especially over on Bainbridge Island. Which probably has something to do with their tax bracket...but I digress.




There was something strangely fun about the start of the tour involving the opening of a strange unmarked door. That's our guide, Adam.
