Chilliwack's old-school downtown main drag features a two-screen movie theatre that is about half the price of the Paramount in downtown Toronto. We saw the Wedding Crashers, but I have to say the best part of the whole show was the trailer for Serenity, based on the excellent Joss Whedon series Firefly. Go check it out.




Before heading out of town the next morning - Day 4 - I gave my sister in Italy a call. I used the world's oldest cellphone, which had racked up gobs of prepaid time on it because my grandmother never actually used it over the years she had it.




Every town needs a bowling alley, but not every town can have one called Chillibowl Lanes.




Day 4 was one of the two main road-trip days. We headed up the Coquihalla and got our first taste of what was to be two solid days of impressive mountain scenery. Alas, I was never able to properly capture the incredible views.




Right after going through the tollbooth for the highway, we pulled off (with a bunch of other people you can see in the background) to take in the view. I can't quite explain what expression that is on my face.
