We stopped for a late lunch in the tiny town of Garberville, California. It's just past the end of the Avenue of Giants scenic road through the forest, and it features some real small-towny feel.




We ate at the Woodrose Cafe, which actually closed while we were still in there eating at 3pm. They were kind about it, though. We were extra happy not to be resorting to a fast food chain.




The end of this leg of the road trip was Napa. This was our first impression of wine country.




This was the first occasion when we ran into a problem due to dated information. We intended to go to Copia, the wine, food and arts centre in Napa. But it had actually closed almost 2 years ago! So we wandered around and made our own tour of the town. (We could have gone on some wine tours, but let's be honest: it would be totally lost on us.)




The next day we circumnavigated the San Francisco Bay area in order to get to Mountain View, where Mozilla has its headquarters.




The purpose of our stop was to visit with Mike, Tyla and Claire, who are living temporarily in California. Morgan was especially glad that Tyla brought a bubble wand.
