It was really raining when I got to Florence, which made taking pictures somewhat difficult. I took this one of striking rail workers outside the train offices because they made me laugh: the only people on strike were the ones who staff the bagage-check room at the train station. That's it. Talk about crippling the national railway! ...




OK, I saw a boatload of old Italian churches and cathedrals when I was in Italy, so you'll have to forgive me for not remembering the names of every one. However, I know this one was the cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore. I'm pretty sure the black bit in the top left is part of my umbrella ...




It was a lot easier to take pictures inside the cathedral since I didn't have to hold the umbrella ...




I think this is pretty self-explanatory ...
