Dropping off the rental car at the airport on Friday morning, I noticed that they put a 'real' email address on the sign in the booth soliciting customer comments. At least it looks like a real name; as Peter points out, it's probably not.




After a lengthy ordeal getting through security (the guy in front of me was carrying enough electrical equipment to hotwire the plane, I had my laptop X-rayed twice, and Peter had to take his shoes off), we got to the gate with plenty of time for our flight. I wandered off in search of a tacky keychain for a friend (there was a surprising dearth of tourist-trap gift shops in downtown LA) and noticed that Starbucks was the most popular shop in the terminal. No wonder, it was barely 6am.




Leaving Los Angeles we flew out over the beach, but it wasn't exactly hot and sunny so the beaches were a little empty.
