Some misplaced Greek architecture, in the form of the Glyptothek, a sculpture museum. It's the oldest museum in Munich, apparently. (Sure looks like it!)




I kept meaning to ask Julian (who grew up in Germany) what the heck these were; I saw quite a few of them along paths in the city. I'd bet they store sand or something but I never got around to finding out.




This one is ever harder to explain, but I'll try. First off (in case it's not obvious), it's supposed to be art. The car engine was running, and its headlights were shining on the side of the 'globe' which is made up of sheet metal panels and has a lamppost stuck on top. The engine is also powering the base of the globe so that it rotates slowly. When we came by later that night, the car had been turned off.




This building had a facade of brightly lit panels and neon signage (in English, as you can see). There's actually quite a lot of English in Germany, but they seem to only use it to sprinkle words at random into things like advertisements.
