Despite the fact that there cannot possibly be anything edible in the harbour, lots of people fish off of Pier 7, which stretches out a little further in the Bay than most piers do. Plus, it's one of the few piers not covered in warehouses.




Judging by the fishing lines, there's quite a current running past here.




Pier 7 offers a reasonably nice view.




It's no Beverly Hills...




...but it is California.




The farmer's market is housed in the rather distinguished renovated ferry building, which no longer has anything to do with ferries (though it does retain its Port of San Francisco signage). The handtruck with umbrella in the foreground is, I'm sorry to say, inexplicable.




It's all very trendy, or so they say.
