In retrospect it's probably just as well that I didn't realize we were only a quarter of the way through our hike at this point.
The sight of Muir Beach ahead was cause for cheer, as we planned to stop there for lunch.
Two men in period clothing did some sparring on the beach while we ate our sanwiches.
Our return route took us more inland, passing some farm fields and vegetable crops. Note the rows of colours here, we'll be refering to them again in a minute.
