[ Mix of architecture ]

The next morning, which was Monday, I went by foot down into the city centre to explore a bit and hopefully see some of the indoor activities I had planned. I planned that because they said it was going to rain. Notice the sky. This is getting annoying...

I took this picture because it suddenly struck me that there was an awfully diverse range of architecture visible from this spot.


[ Stone road ]

Two things about this shot: first, I held the camera level - the street really is that steep. Second, the stone paving was a bit of a surprise.


[ Electric bus ]

Hey, electric buses! Just like San Francisco.


[ Freakish building ]

What struck me about this building is how much it looks just like those artist's renderings they do when they're planning a building - most of it looks airbrushed.
