Also, you should see the view of the downtown area.




Since I had to change gears with my plans for the day I figured I might as well pick up tickets for that night's Seattle Mariners baseball game instead of the next night as originally planned. This was my first chance to see the newish Safeco Field.




Just south of the city, not as far as SEATAC and not as big either, is Boeing Field, aka King County International Airport. I rather suspect the only reason it is "international" is because Vancouver's Helijet airline runs flights into there (ironically neither 'heli' nor 'jet' service in this case). But they also do final paint and delivery of 737 and 757 aircraft there.




The museum is situated right on the edge of the airfield and that is the taxiway and runways in behind this A-model Harrier, which is right next to the parking lot.

Inside the museum's rather impressive main hall they have quite a good collection of aircraft, and unlike Ottawa's awkwardly named Canada Aviation Museum they manage to spread them out enough so you can see them properly by taking advantage of the much-maligned third dimension and suspending them from the ceiling.
