Our next stop was to meet up with my friend Flo from my university days in Halifax.

Flo now teaches, with an affiliation to Sommerville College in Oxford, so she gave us a peek inside the college.

In fact she took us in for tea in the senior common room, a place apparently unaccustomed to the likes of Milo. We drove off the guy on the sofa a few minutes later.

I wandered onto the grass (gasp!) to get this shot of the Sommerville quad.


[ Tesco special drinks ]

As Cat took Milo back to King's Sutton and Flo went on her way, Emma and I stopped in for snacks at another Tesco Express, where we found this delightfully practical product: a pair of (plastic) wine glasses, complete with pinot grigio.


[ Bond theatre ]

We figured while we were in England we should see the new Bond flick, especially since it wasn't open in Canada yet.

The only downside to the experience, other than the confusing plotlines, was the row of 15 or so preteen boys who would not be quiet during the movie. I do sympathize: If Emma and I had trouble following the movie, I can't imagine it was holding their interest especially, but they were nearly thrown out for being too loud, and rightly so.
