Our last adventure was a trip to the Milton Keynes area, including a visit to Bletchley Park, the site of WWII efforts to break German coded messages.

Milo watches the promotional video for England's contemporary code breakers. What was interesting about this area of the museum was its constant references to "GCHQ" without spelling it out. It's like it's a secret or something. Yet there's a detailed model of its present headquarters under the dome in this photo.




The museum has a slate sculpture of Alan Turing, who played a key role in devising the machines used at Bletchley Park to break the Enigma code used by the Germans. We listened in to part of the guided tour as they passed through this area.




After various tolerance thresholds for spending time at a museum were exceeded, we moved on to the unspeakably giant mall in the centre of Milton Keynes. This gave Milo a chance to practice his alphabet with licence plates and badges on the cars in the parking lot.
