Some of the only people staying at the Delta hotel in Sun Peaks were the 'Bible Truth Fellowship' - further sign that we had made our way deep into B.C.'s bible belt.

On the way out of Kamloops, heading west, we passed a native reserve with bilingual stop signs.

Our plan for the day was to take a bit of a gamble and follow the road less travelled. Instead of retracing our steps back down the Coquihalla and along the Trans-Canada, we wanted to see Highway 99, a two-lane road of ill-repair that cuts through the mountains and arrives back at Whistler from the north. We weren't even sure if the road would be open all the way there.

Not only was it open, it was a blast! The twisty two-laner was a hoot to drive fast, and Emma indulged me on numerous occasions by stifling some screams as we whizzed around some blind corners with steep drop-offs right outside the passenger door. The scenery on the road was also top-notch.

For some reason, Emma didn't want to get out of the car and appreciate the view. Probably motion sickness!
