The Times staff made sure the trip was pretty festive.




Our destination, located on La Cienega Blvd in Beverly Hills. "La cienega" means swamp, by the way.




Lawry's has valet parking -- everywhere has valet parking in LA. But this kind of helps you see the clientele our three tour buses worth of tourists were mingling with.


Again, I had to put the camera down to deal with food and drink. But a special mention here goes to Mike for sending me the score updates in Game 1 of the Flames/Lightning series in text messages on my phone. The Globe contingent was pleased with the outcome.
