We stumbled across the U.S. embassy building somewhat by accident, and immediately noticed that it has a) heavily armed guys just hanging out on their side of a prominent fence and b) a police hut across the street with mirrored windows. We had no idea if we were being watched, so we behaved as poorly as we could.




The last day of the conference was over reasonably quickly, but even after everyone else had drifted off to their hotels or even directly to the airport for flights home, I needed to do some tidying up of the CCI users group website, and that included posting some of the notes from the final sessions of the conference. Of course, that meant someone had to type up some notes for those sessions, and that's what's happening here. I think I was the last person to leave. (Are you reading this, benevolent Globe bosses?)




After finally disengaging myself from the conference, I met up with Cal and Andrew, who had been waiting patiently for me at Cal's hotel. We went down to the waterfront area to look for some dinner. This part seems vaguely reminiscent of the distillery buildings in Toronto.




I really liked the statue on stilts in the water. (He's much more stable on those things than Cal!)




We were looking for food, and came across this message in one of the posted menus. (What do you suppose gratinated means? Does not knowing put me in the final 3%?)
